THE BRIDGE PUBLIC CHARITABLE
In the present India, one observes a large disparity between the incomes and the living standards of the rich and the poor. Such disparities do exist in other parts ofthe world but in the developed countries, it is not that apparent because the so called POOR have all the minimum requirements of a reasonably good life in the fields of food, water, health, education, housing, electricity, transport, employment, communications etc....
While in developing countries like ours, one feels that as the years roll by - rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer. Sadly, the minimum requirements for the poorer sections are not met in most of the above areas. With all the present day infrastructure facilities and so much surplus food stocks, it is a shame to read that deaths do occur because of starvation.
Out of the 1000 million plus population of our country, 250 million live in abject poverty totally deprived of basic requirements of life after 55 years of independence! This is a tragedy for Hunianitv. And, Honble President Shri APJ Kalam is absolutely right when he endorses -poverty is our greatest enemy.
By establishing this ‘BRIDGE TRUST' - we are trying to loin the battalion of international and national agencies, various Govt. agencies, various corporate bodies, individuals, non-Govt. and soluntary organi/dtions (NGOs and VOs) - in their war against thirst, hunger, illiteracy, disease, etc.., By BRIDGE - we mean - tiying to bridge the large gap that exist between the rich and the poor arid thereby trying to improve the living of the poor and the deprived -- to the extent possible.
