Let me introduce you to a system of medicine called HOMOEOPATHY. Homos means similar and pathy means suffering. A German Physician-Dr Fredrick Samuel Hahnemann rediscovered this fundamental law of nature in 1796. He was an M.D. in medicine of his times-an eminent physician and a famous one too! But his scientifically reason gifted mind and truth loving soul could not stand the futility of the modalities of Rx offered to the patient at that time. This dejected soul gave up medicine and being a master of many languages took to translate medical books to German. While translating one such book he came across a statement which he could not reason out. To search for the truth, he conducted an experiment to verify the validity of the statement.

The book mentioned that “cinchona bark is used in the treatment of malaria because it has a tonic effect on the stomach “ to know the truth he ingested a small quantity of the bark himself and then gave it to a few of his friends and relatives. He noticed that all of them developed symptoms of malaria which passed away after they discontinued the intake. After several such verifications he came to the conclusion that cinchona cures malaria because it is capable of producing symptoms of malaria. Thus started the whole journey of a furtile mind into the realms of the unexplored territory of new conclusions and experimental verifications to reach a new ray of hope in the horizon of medicine “similia similibus curenter “-the discovery of homoeopathy.
