Progressive Engineering Works was established in the year 1972 by Mr.A.P.Shah (B.E.Mech) for the manufacturing of various sheet metal parts for the automobile industries, namely Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. For their plants at Mumbai, Nashik, Zaheerabad, Tractor Division Kandivli, Nagpur, Ashok Leylands, Tafe Ltd.
Originally the Progressive Engineering Works was started with manpower of 12 at Unit No.6, Agrawal Industrial Estate with an area of 600 sq.ft. And achieved a turnover of Rs.12 Lacs by manufacturing Magnetic as well as Non Magnetic Straight and Tapered Drain Plugs Precision machined components, Carbide tipped tools etc. for Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.
Gradually the manpower was increased to 22 and added Gala No.22 at Agrawal Industrial Estate. Estate in the year 1980, with an area of 700 sq.ft. To cope up with the production requirement by adding necessary machinery.
Further in the year 1992 700 sq.f.t was added to Progressive Engg. Works by procuring Gala No.28 at Agrawal Industrial Estate and increased the manpower to 36 and appointed W.M.(Admin), Q.A. In charge and Production In charge to improve the quality of the items manufactured at Progressive Engg. Works.
In the year 199 another Gala No.25, with an area 750 sq.ft. was added which was also located at Agrawal Industrial Estate.
The overall area consisting of all the four galas of Progressive Engg. Wors constitutes about 2750 sq.ft. And the items manufactured / activities performed at various galas / section of Progresive Engg. Works are given as follows:
Gala No.6 - Machining of Components
Gala No.22 - Milling Operation, Grinding, Threading and Drilling Operations
Gala No.25 - Adhesive Coating, CO2 Welding and Cleaning Operations
Gala No.28 - Assembly, Final Inspection, Packing and Dispatch.
