The company was started in 1929 at Chennai by the Late Mr.M.R.V.Gururao with the main objective of conducting All India Tours by train . The House of Khodays presently owns Ram Mohan & Co., with its headquarters situated at Bangalore and its branch at Chennai.
During its initial years of inception there were branches in Metros such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Cochin etc. It was at this juncture that the company had eminent people as its share holders, which include the Maharaja of Mysore as the major shareholder.
In 1948 after its IATA approval, Ram Mohan and Co. was also recognized as Accredited Agent for Southern Railways, Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Tourism, Indian Airlines, Air India and various other International Airlines.
