Jamila Hasnali, the woman who exuberates her passion to glass has been wedded to glass since many years. However, it is only in recent years, thanks to the coaxing of her friends and relatives, has she dared to venture out to translate her passion and dedication into a business, working under the aegis of "Spectra Arts". She specializes in stain glass, which fits into her passion and philosophy. Stain glass involves the use of carefully cut patterns of colored glass that are joined together to form a glass mural. The patterns are part of a larger design that has to match with the stituation and ambience. the important parameters for deciding the type and structure of colors used. A lot of technology goes into both cutting and joining the colored pieces. The joining involves the application of copper wrapper to be followed by soldering. The soldering gives the necessary strength to glass mural to withstand the shock of handling and environmental fury and impart a long life of many decades to the glass murals. All the things are done at the workshop in Mumbai. Her partner, Sunil More, who looks after the structural desing of glass is all praise for her understanding of designs and colors. While technology amazes her, it is the romance with glass and colors that is so visible in her eyes. Her passion and dedication has resulted in some of the most beautiful stain glass creations that adorn mosques, churches, showrooms of five star hotels, museums and many individual and corporate houses al over thw world. When asked to comment on her statement on romance and philosophy of stain glass, the palyful twinkle in her eyes became serious and said "The glass is so transparent and colorful at the same time, transmitting light of the surroundings, similarly to the mystic prays to the divine to make her or her mind pure and transparent so as to allow the divinity to paly through the mystic in all its grandeur and resplendence." With the twinkle returning back into her eyes, she said, "glass is so romantic that a stain glass mural is not static but dynamic and changes with the changing light content of the surroundings and the mood of the beholder.
