The SAM Development kit is designed to offer design engineers a started platform to initiate development work with the Altera device family. This extremely cost-effective SAM Development kit is also designed to give design engineers the opportunity to explore the features of the Altera family.
The SAM Development kit contains an Altera EP1K100QC208-3 device, which can be reconfigured anytime. An EP1K100QC208-3 device provides 100,000 usable gates and up to 147 user I/Q pins. In addition to its gate count, this product has other features including EISA interface, a wealth of both I/O and functional expansion options, and software support.
The software provided with the kit includes programs to support design various circuits and downloading configuration data as well as Altera Hardware Description Language (AHDL) libraries for high speed EISA bus data transfers. In short, the enclosed Altera design software makes the design process easy and straightforward.
The SAM Development kit is the ideal prototype and design platform for a wide range of applications, such as industrial factory automation, testing and diagnostic equipment, avionics systems, and automotive and medical control devices. The kit bundles all the necessary hardware and software for a robust out-of-the-box experience for both hardware and software engineers.
The SAM Development kit also includes one three-phase fully controlled thyrstor module. This thyristor module can be SCR or MOSFET based depending on the requirements.
